Makers Month at Woven Store 2024

Our aim is to grow a like-minded community of makers + designers. We are hosting a new maker each month...

Each maker will have their work featured at Studio 50 Hove and will be available to purchase during the month

Bowls, dishes, platters, and plates are at the core of Matt’s work, as is his love of the warm and tactile nature of wood.

Poppy Fuller Abbott is a textile artist operating under POP studio. Her
practice focuses on creating thoughtful interactions between materials
with an emphasis on sustainability. POP studio primarily uses hand-woven
natural fibres and plants dyes, some of which are foraged or grown
locally. Poppy’s work is influenced by folk customs and how we relate
to ritual in our current world. Traces, memories, and pathways, literal
or figurative, inspire her to reflect on our daily lives and
surroundings. Practising such ancient crafts connects Poppy with the
heritage and mythology surrounding textiles and creates a language of
symbolism and meaning in her work.

Poppy trained as a weaver at Central Saint Martins in London, before
joining Cockpit Arts as part of their Clothworkers Award. As a new
graduate she began learning about natural dyes on the annual course at
Ditchling Museum. She has since completed her Masters in Craft at
Brighton University, and was one of the Toast New Makers for 2023. Poppy
currently has a studio based at Studio50 in Hove where she creates work
using mindful production methods and materials.
